News: Two trade programs are in the mix to ride on a CR amid intense leadership-level negotiations to hammer out what can make it into the last legislative vehicle of this Congress.
The GOP wants an economic assistance package for farmers in the stopgap government funding bill, and the extensions of trade programs for Haiti and sub-Saharan African countries are among a longer list of demands that Democrats are seeking in return. Those also include 100% cost share for rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, funding for museums honoring women and Hispanic Americans, and the Second Chance Act.
