U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro vowed to appeal a ruling from a federal judge that blocked subpoenas issued by the Department of Justice that were aimed at Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg tossed out the DOJ’s subpoenas in a court filing unsealed on Friday, calling them baseless and blasting the Trump administration for offering “no evidence whatsoever” of any crime committed by Powell.
Even before Pirro announced the administration would appeal, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) had a warning for the president: Kevin Warsh, the White House’s pick to be the next Fed chair, would be going nowhere fast.
