President Donald Trump on Thursday called on Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell to cut interest rates in an emergency meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, a sure sign the White House isn’t feeling great about the American economy.
“Where is the Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell, today?” Trump said on Truth Social. “He should be dropping Interest Rates, IMMEDIATELY, not waiting for the next meeting!”
