Brown, under pressure for a housing markup, blames Scott

Senate Banking Committee Chair Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) is under significant pressure to move housing legislation through his panel from both sides of the aisle.

So far, Brown has been reluctant, and he’s pointing the finger at the panel’s ranking Republican, Tim Scott (S.C.), as the reason.

Lawmakers on and off the banking panel have bipartisan housing legislation in hand, and they’ve been asking Brown to schedule a markup.
