Republican Chief Tax Counsel Sean Clerget is leaving the House Ways and Means Committee.
Clerget announced his departure during a private staff meeting this morning, according to sources in the room. Clerget will move on from Capitol Hill after nearly seven years as a top staffer on Ways and Means, running oversight investigations and writing a major tax law during his time with the panel.
