It’s official: The White House announced its intent to nominate Christy Goldsmith Romero to be the next chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and Kristin Johnson to be the Treasury Department’s next assistant secretary for financial institutions.

And not a moment too soon. We scooped the announcement this morning. Now it’s a race to get these nominees through the Senate before the August recess.
