Less than 24 hours after returning from a shortened Asia trip, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that he’ll travel to Israel this weekend with a bipartisan group of senators to show support for the country in the aftermath of Hamas’ terror attacks.
Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in U.S. history, will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz, who formed a unity government earlier this week. Schumer will also meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
