2 House Republicans are heading to Syria

Two House Republicans are reportedly en route to Syria where they’re expected to meet with that country’s new president.

The visit by Reps. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) and Marlin Stutzman (R-Ind.) is not funded or supported by the U.S. government, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The Pentagon and State Department often facilitate overseas travel by members of Congress, but in this case neither had direct involvement in the planning.
