With one week until FISA expires, House Republican leaders say they’ll file a bill this week to extend the nation’s international surveillance authority.
“We’re going to move FISA today,” Speaker Mike Johnson told us this morning. “I was up until about 2 o’clock in the morning working through the final details. We’ve sent that around, socialized it with all the various corners of the conference and the caucuses. And so far so good. Everybody seems to be on board.”
Johnson said he even expects the bill to draw bipartisan support.
