Thanedar backs down on impeachment push

The House won’t vote on a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump today after Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) failed to call up his proposal this afternoon.

This is a victory for House Democratic leaders, who had pressured Thanedar not to show up and request a vote on his resolution. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and his leadership team had already signaled they would vote to table the resolution if it came to that.
