Mike Johnson versus Tom Emmer on funding fight

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer thinks Speaker Mike Johnson’s strategy of forswearing the use of an omnibus spending package to cover FY2025 government funding might be wrongheaded, revealing a sharp split in the House Republican leadership over year-end strategy.

Emmer went on – yes, this is the actual name – “Hot Talk with the Ox,” a conservative radio show in St. Cloud, Minn., Tuesday. Emmer complained that Johnson should stop saying that Congress won’t pass an omnibus spending bill during the lame-duck session.
