Rescissions fight looms even as reconciliation reigns

House GOP leaders will move ahead with a floor vote this week on a $9 billion-plus rescissions package, seeking to codify DOGE-related spending cuts while also trying to firm up conservative support for what could be a tough reconciliation floor fight in the weeks ahead.

The House Rules Committee will consider the White House-drafted rescissions legislation on Tuesday. The measure is expected to hit the House floor on Thursday.
