President Donald Trump has pardoned longtime Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar and his wife, throwing a lifeline to one of the most endangered Democrats in the Lone Star State.
Federal prosecutors have alleged that Cuellar used a series of shell companies, “sham contracts” and fake invoices to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from an Azerbaijani oil company and a Mexican bank over a years-long period.
