A bipartisan group of four House lawmakers is urging Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin not to cap the duration of a visa used by many students in science, technology and research fields.
“These changes would undermine America’s ability to attract and retain top global talent at a time when competitor nations continue expanding efforts to recruit international students, researchers, and high-skilled STEM workers,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter sent Friday. It was led by Rep. Sam Liccardo (D-Calif.).
