A wave of New Jersey elected officials on Friday afternoon called on Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) to step down, just hours after Menendez was indicted on federal bribery and extortion charges.
Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said Menendez should resign, as did Reps. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) and Andy Kim (D-N.J.). Sherrill is believed to be eyeing statewide office.
