Cable is losing the spectrum fight

The debate in Washington over how much radio spectrum to make available for commercial use is making one thing clear: The cable industry could use a Republican friend.

While wireless companies’ mouths are watering over the push in Congress to free up more spectrum, the cable industry has yet to find a GOP champion for its concerns that the party-line reconciliation bill could hurt its bottom line.
