Tech: Industry group descends on Hill to battle tariffs

A major tech trade group is swarming Capitol Hill today to warn members that President Donald Trump’s tariffs are about to cause big spikes in the price of digital devices, including a potential $255 increase on smartphones.

The Consumer Technology Association has lined up 30 meetings, mostly with members and staff on the Senate Finance and House Ways and Means committees. The group will be armed with new research it commissioned on the effect of the tariffs.
