Hundreds of business groups are pushing the Senate to pass a decade-long ban on state regulation of artificial intelligence as the Senate considers the idea as part of reconciliation.
In a letter today led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, roughly 200 local chambers from more than 40 states say they “strongly support” a freeze. Stopping local regulation would impact more than 1,000 AI bills that have popped up in states and localities this year, the business groups said.
