Microsoft exec says AI chips draft ‘really positive’

Add cloud giant Microsoft to the list of stakeholders who like what they see in a new draft proposal to give American buyers first dibs on advanced semiconductor chips.

“Based on our initial assessment, [it] would actually be really positive,” Gerry Petrella, general manager of U.S. public policy at Microsoft, said at a conference Friday morning.
