Nvidia is calling on Congress to reauthorize the National Quantum Initiative as a number of lawmakers from both parties push to renew the law.
The powerful chipmaker, without endorsing any specific proposals, is urging lawmakers to advance legislation that would “evolve” the initiative from being a “discovery-focused” program to one that also allows for “deployment” of quantum technology, according to a blog post first shared with Punchbowl News.
While the NQI itself doesn’t sunset for three more years, funding for key programs expired in September 2023.
