Parents want Thune to bypass Cruz on KOSA

A group of nearly 90 parents whose children died due to “online harms” are urging Senate Majority Leader John Thune to schedule a floor vote on the Kids Online Safety Act.

The letter is the latest sign that those hoping to regulate social media want Congress to take action soon. It also shows a growing desire to hedge against any effort by Senate Commerce Committee Chair Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to include his state AI moratorium in legislation like KOSA.
