News. President Donald Trump said Monday afternoon that he will allow Nvidia to sell its H200 chip to China, making a more advanced U.S. artificial intelligence chip available to Chinese customers.
Trump said the U.S. would also take a 25% cut and that Chinese President Xi Jinping had “responded positively” to the news. Patrick Rutherford, an Nvidia spokesperson, said the H200 approval “strikes a thoughtful balance that is great for America.”
Netflix deal. Senate Majority Leader John Thune urged the Justice Department to closely scrutinize Netflix’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros.
“The Justice Department’s going to have to take a hard look at it and see if it makes sense,” Thune said on Monday as political and business opponents stepped up their fight against the $83 billion deal.
