The House substantially changed its effort to amend the Senate’s 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act just hours before the bill is set to receive a vote on the floor.
The House has updated its text more than once in recent days, an effort led by Reps. French Hill (R-Ark.) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) But the changes introduced today are by far the most significant. Now, the White House and House GOP leadership are fully supportive of the House bill, according to multiple sources familiar.
The move followed a frenzy of activity around the housing bill this week. That includes outreach from the White House, according to sources with direct knowledge of the process.
