Thune and Johnson head to White House as nom scramble continues

Schedule updates: Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune will head to the White House for a meeting with President Donald Trump at 2 p.m. The full bicameral GOP leadership will meet with Trump at 3 p.m.

Trump is slated to make what the White House is describing as a big infrastructure announcement at 4 p.m. CBS’ Jen Jacobs reported that “OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle are planning a joint venture called Stargate” to build artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States.
