Cardinals uneasy with Trump’s Kennedy Center closure

Some Republican appropriators are uneasy with President Donald Trump’s plans to close the Kennedy Center for two years and build a 250-foot arch overlooking the Potomac River.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), who chairs the Appropriations panel responsible for funding the Kennedy Center and federal lands, said she’s pressing for answers about why Trump decided to close the Kennedy Center and for details on the envisioned arch between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
