The White House sent Democrats a counter-proposal on Department of Homeland Security reforms this afternoon ahead of Friday’s funding deadline, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.
Democratic leaders made public their 10-point plan for ICE reforms last week. Republicans asked for legislative text over the weekend, which Democrats sent on Saturday. A GOP source said that the White House is interested in negotiating and avoiding a DHS funding lapse.
