Is this going to be enough? Probably not.
The Justice Department announced this afternoon that it would “abide by” the court ruling that paused the creation of a $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund for another 11 days.
DOJ’s statement said that the Trump administration “disagrees strongly” with the ruling on Friday but would abide by it.
The U.S. district judge only barred the administration from setting up the fund until June 12 while he hears other legal arguments related to the fund’s disbursements. DOJ did not say it would abandon all efforts to create the fund, which President Donald Trump has been supporting.
