Iran war: Republicans are closely watching the looming 60-day mark of the Iran war, as they near an inflection point of when to assert Congress’ war-making powers.
Their expectation is President Donald Trump will formally certify that a 30-day extension is needed to continue the campaign in Iran, a right he has under the 1973 War Powers Resolution. But Hill Republicans are vowing to demand answers and an exit plan from Hegseth.
“I haven’t taken any particular options off the table, and I look forward to working with the administration to execute a well-defined plan,” Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.) said.
