The Trump administration nominee to lead the Internal Revenue Service was hammered by Senate Democrats on Tuesday over his past business and campaign finance practices.

Former Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.) appeared before the Senate Finance Committee, months after President Donald Trump nominated him to the post in January.

While Democrats reveled in the nominee’s grilling – and had plenty of material to go on – Republicans gave Long a polite reception.
