Democrats hitch a ride on ‘debanking’ wave

Democrats on the Senate Banking Committee partly embraced industry concerns about “debanking” during the committee’s first policy hearing of the 119th Congress this morning.

This is an issue that lurched into the mainstream thanks to high-profile complaints from the venture capital and crypto industries. Democrats led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) are trying to make the most of the moment.

“It’s a real problem, and it’s something I hope we can work on together,” Warren said.
