The chair of the House Financial Services Committee said this morning that the banking system is doing just fine amid the shutdown. But risks remain following a lapse in the authority of the National Flood Insurance Program.
”In my own state, here in Arkansas, the thing I'm the most concerned about is the fact that [Senate Minority Leader Chuck] Schumer's let the national flood program lapse,” Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) told Fox Business, pointing to the ongoing hurricane season. “That’s a result of Chuck Schumer’s negotiating talent.”
