House Republicans probe SEC over its hiring practices

First in Punchbowl News: House Republicans are probing the Securities and Exchange Commission for information on its hiring practices, alleging that politics may have influenced who has landed a job at the market regulator, according to a new letter we obtained.

The letter to SEC Chair Gary Gensler was sent today by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), House Financial Services Committee Chair Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.).
