Martin Gruenberg not expected to testify before House next week

Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chair Martin Gruenberg will not appear before the House Financial Services Committee next week for further oversight hearings, despite a demand from Chair Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) in late May.

Next week, two FDIC board members — Director Jonathan McKernan and acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu — are slated to testify. But Gruenberg, who was also requested, will not attend next week, according to three people familiar with the planning.
