Powell: ‘It’s not incredibly obvious what to do’

The message from Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell didn’t budge much from what we’ve been hearing since August.

The risks of inflation appear to be waning, Powell said, while the American labor market is experiencing some shakiness. The U.S. central bank reduced interest rates by 25 basis points this afternoon, bringing the federal funds rate between 4% and 4.25%.
