Powell’s hard hat blues

This was truly a you-can’t-make-it-up moment.

The president of the United States took a walk this afternoon with the chairs of the Federal Reserve and the Senate Banking Committee. Flanked by cameras and a horde of reporters, they had hard hats and talked construction. The trio was touring a site that White House officials and their GOP allies have turned into ground zero of a campaign to lower interest rates.
