Redlining redux, plus USTR now leading OGE

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. Federal bank regulators announced this morning they would rescind an earlier attempt to modernize a key anti-redlining law.

You have heard this one before. The Biden administration did the same thing in 2021 after the Trump administration first tried overhauling the Community Reinvestment Act. That law directs banks to do a certain amount of business in low-income communities where they have physical locations.
