Marshall doesn’t take it personally

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) spent much of the past month trying to get a vote on the Credit Card Competition Act as an amendment to the GENIUS Act. He even said on TV it was the best shot the bill had at getting a floor vote this year.

And when Senate Majority Leader John Thune closed up shop on the amendment process on Monday, no one felt it more than Marshall and his allies in the retail lobby.

But Marshall’s still upbeat. “It didn’t work out, and we’ll live to fight another day,” the Kansas Republican told us.
