Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) has yet to publicly acknowledge a Justice Department official’s pronouncement this morning that the Trump administration would “close” its criminal inquiry into Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell.
So far, it doesn’t appear the DOJ has made an official move to close the inquiry. And White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters this afternoon that the case “is not necessarily dropped. It’s just being moved over to the [Federal Reserve’s] inspector general.”
