Deadline pressure mounts on One Big Beautiful Bill

President Donald Trump said this morning that Congress shouldn’t leave town until Republicans send him the One Big Beautiful Bill, a declaration that will probably result in Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune canceling part of the July 4 recess. Thune has already said the Senate won’t leave for the July 4 break until GOP senators pass a reconciliation bill.
