Lawmakers ding VA for medical marijuana restrictions

First in The Vault: A bipartisan trio of senior lawmakers urged the Department of Veterans Affairs to rescind a directive prohibiting veterans from accessing medical marijuana programs through the Veterans Health Administration.

In a letter sent to VA Secretary Denis McDonough, Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), Dave Joyce (R-Ohio) and Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) urged the government to “ease the VA’s antiquated marijuana restrictions rooted in the racist drug policy.”
