Speaker Mike Johnson has a rebellion on his hands. And this is supposed to be the easy part of passing President Donald Trump’s agenda.

See no pardon, hear no pardon

Speaker Mike Johnson followed President Donald Trump’s lead this morning, pleading ignorance about a crypto founder who received a pardon after his firm helped steer millions to the president’s family businesses.

Our friend Manu Raju at CNN asked Johnson this morning about Trump’s pardon of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who pleaded guilty to failing to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program at the international crypto exchange.

Johnson was asked whether he was concerned that Trump repeatedly told “60 Minutes” he didn’t know who Zhao was, despite pardoning the Binance founder last month. The speaker replied: “I don’t know anything about that. I didn’t see the interview. You have to ask the president about that.”
