Kirby: Deal on Gaza ceasefire and hostages ‘is as close as it’s ever been’

A ceasefire deal in Gaza – including a hostage swap between Israel and Hamas – is “as close as it’s ever been,” White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby told reporters this morning, although he also added that there’s “more work to do” before an agreement is finalized.
