The push to oust Boasberg has soared in prominence after Trump called for Congress to impeach the longtime judge following Boasberg’s ruling against Trump’s deportation policies.

Boasberg impeachment resolution reaches 16 cosponsors

The effort to impeach U.S. District Judge James Boasberg is quietly growing ahead of a busy week on Capitol Hill.

The resolution, led by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas), now has 16 cosponsors, according to the freshman lawmaker. The measure hasn’t been filed yet, and it currently lists just five cosponsors online: Reps. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.), Barry Moore (R-Ala.) and Georgia GOP Reps. Buddy Carter, Mike Collins and Andrew Clyde.

Gill’s team is planning to add the new cosponsors at today’s pro forma session.
