Furman seeks rematch against Cuellar

Republican Jay Furman is seeking a rematch against vulnerable Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), centering his campaign on an anti-corruption message.

Furman, who lost to Cuellar by less than six points last cycle, cited the Texas 28th District’s shift toward President Donald Trump and Cuellar’s legal issues as reasons he can defeat the longtime incumbent in 2026.

“We’re a match for the new future of the Republican Party,” Furman told us. “Henry is cut out of everything that’s bad that we want to get rid of.”
