SALT dispute still unresolved — for now

Speaker Mike Johnson hosted members of the SALT Caucus and members of the House Ways and Means Committee in his office Monday morning. House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.) said the tax-writing panel was planning to include a $30,000 state-and-local tax deduction limit in the bill, with language allowing only people making up to $400,000 to benefit.
