House GOP reeling from blockbuster Texas redistricting

A three-judge federal panel dealt House Republicans a redistricting gut punch Tuesday afternoon.

Led by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown, a President Donald Trump appointee, the panel blocked the GOP’s Texas gerrymander from taking effect in 2026. The ruling could erase five red seats that Trump and House Republicans desperately hoped could stave off a potential 2026 midterm defeat.
