Johnson plays nice to Musk as rescissions vote looms next week

New: The House Rules Committee will mark up the $9 billion-plus rescissions package from the White House next Tuesday, the panel announced today. That sets up a floor vote next week on a rule that self-executes the legislation.

The rescissions package calls for major cuts to U.S. foreign aid, as well as slashing more than $1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which helps fund NPR and PBS. The measure must be passed within 45 days and isn’t subject to a Senate filibuster.
