Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) filmed an ad urging Virginia voters to allow Democrats to gerrymander their state’s congressional map as the deadline quickly approaches.
Kinzinger taped the spot for Virginians for Fair Elections, Democrats’ pro-redistricting campaign, ahead of the April 21 referendum. The involvement of the anti-Trump Republican suggests Democrats aren’t relying solely on their base to win later this month. They’re eager to convince moderate Republicans and independents to back redistricting.
