The White House is expected to send a $9 billion-plus rescissions package to Capitol Hill on Tuesday at the earliest, although the timing is still fluid.

Johnson expects W.H. to send several rescission packages

News: Speaker Mike Johnson said that he expects the White House to send “multiple rescission packages” to Capitol Hill this year, and the House will pass them “as quickly as we can.”

“I think there’s an appetite amongst all House Republicans to cut wasteful spending,” Johnson said Monday in the Capitol. “The outrageous things that were uncovered with DOGE and USAID, for example, are something that we’ve been anxious to handle and address. So we’ll take the package, process it as quickly as possible. I’m determined to do that.”
