First impeachment inquiry hearing falls flat

Familiar battle lines were drawn today during the first hearing of the House Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. But if you were looking for any new developments, no luck.

Republicans — led by the chair trio of James Comer (R-Ky.), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Jason Smith (R-Mo.) — reiterated their accusations that Biden was improperly involved with his family members’ business dealings. This Republican memo, which we reported on this morning, is a useful summary of how the GOP approached today’s House Oversight Committee hearing.
